Looks like this rig is actually gonna work... a mighty big relief... wasn't reeeeelly sure about it... It yanked the log pretty easily, on a pre packed trail, including my lard azz. I'll make a few adjustments with ropes and how I deal with the lift arm. I'm happy...
What did ya use for the skin's Stinny ? I am assuming that rig is homemade. Gonna cross link. the Mule build & log sleds... pics
Now that’s a neat rig. I second the videos I wonder if you could get the skis to just front of center and keep the log out of the sled?
Now I hate to be a killjoy, but wouldn't the rig work better with the skis in the front? I feel bad, seeing that you already cut the back out the nice black plastic sled.
Let's see... yup, I stand in the front of the sled. My honey took a pic this monin... sorry papadave, no seat... The "skins" on the skis are 3/16" Lexan. There's a narrow 2nd layer just under the tube frame, along with skegs. They're my leftover ultralight skis. Definitely could go with the skis more forward under the log. They could handle the weight. Better to distribute the log's weight with 2 sleds tho... the total load "floats" better on the snow. And, I need sumthin to stand on... LOL... "skis in the front"... I'd prolly go with a snowsled then... This tracked rig has power steering, and does pretty well in tight places. And, I really need to stand while movin. Easier on my back, believe it or not... Thanks guys... always fun. BTW... I'll work on a vid. I'm computah illiterate...
Nice set up there Stinny but must say by the thread title I was looking for the lop-eared variety of mule
Where in the hell does 'The Giz' sit? Ya gotta quit thinking about yourself Stinster! Jeez! Cool rig mister.
