So this will be the third year in a row of my thread titled “the march to....”. Two years ago it was “the march to 150” where I wanted to set a record of 150 cords processed and sold. That year I surpassed the goal with 180 cords. Last year was “the march to whatever 2020 brings” and boy did it bring it! With covid, I had much more free time and so did my college and high school age helpers. I ended up selling 225 cords.

I am off to a great start due to covid once again and kids looking to work while attending online classes and extended winter breaks. I have a few different piles of splits going which I tally up to about 55-60 cords already. I have also estimated the amount of logs I currently have on site at around 90. I’m not going to put a number on it but if covid remains as it is now into summer, I should easily hit 250 cords with 300 being a possibility. So here goes the next march!

You are off to a big head start. You have the labor lined up, just need the wood pipeline to keep gushing!

I wish I had the room and storage area to do this to a degree. Be perfect to do with my sons and help towards future college bills.

Maybe you can work out a deal with someone who does have the space?

I think I'm gonna take inspiration from ya jrider ! Been getting a little burned out working in my shop so many hours, may cut back & make/sell more firewood this year too. Can't wait to see your progress!

Wow! Now that's a firewood business!

What are main pieces of equipment you use to process all of that wood? Preferred saws, splitter, etc.?
