Only problem with that is they will be out of wood to split early next week, they will never run a chainsaw and I’m not supposed to lift more than 10 pounds for 14 days!!

My small saw is a Stihl ms260. Probably around 10-11 pounds I would guess. As macho as I want to be I don’t want to be stupid and cause more missed time. It just sucks. The whole time I’m sitting around I will be thinking about all the wood I should be cutting.

Jrider, best wishes for a speedy recovery. Don't worry about the wood, there's always more money out there to be made, but there's only one of you.

    X 1000 ^^

Co-worker's couldn't understand why I'd take tomorrow off without pay.
    (Plant shutdown)

Simple answer, I can make more money, can't make more time.

Heal up jrider then hit the stacks again.

So I got home around 11:30am on the 4th and we hosted a party for the neighbors, probably had around 50 people or so which made time go quickly. Yesterday I already started to go crazy just sitting around. I am sore so I know I can’t do pretty much anything but man I’m bored!

Glad to hear your home. I know how Chaz is when he is restless and bored. He drives me nuts. I tell him to take Holly for a walk.

Wow, this thread just took an unexpected turn!
Too bad you are burning summer vaca instead of sick leave!
Either way, better behave for a while!
Back in 2000 or 2001, can't remember which now, I had started a major kitchen remodel, and only a few weeks in my contractor ended up in the hospital with a ruptured appendix, he died twice during surgery but they were able to bring him back and he lived to tell the story. Never was able to work as a contractor again though...I finished the remodel myself, only took me 2-3 years! :hair:

I felt pretty darn good the morning I left the hospital (7/4), but I’ve come to realize when they cut you in the stomach, progress will be slow.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t trust them with a saw. I may have found a former student who used to work for me ( now in his mid 20’s) who is willing to come saw a few hours after working.

Yeah I’m usually that guy that just keeps pushing but I’m listening to my body...for now at least! Even my wife has commented on how she’s happy I haven’t been pushing it.

Please do. All those nerves& muscle they cut through to get to your appendix need quite a bit of time to heal. Your body endured a lot of trauma!! Give yourself the time you need. Your a teacher so your no doubt an educated person. Listen to your Drs. & your body. It’s not worth screwing things ip for some stupid firewood that isn’t going anywhere. That’s the reality of your situation. In my humble opinion of course.:handshake:
