Ok so today was my last day of work (real job). Got my chains sharpened and bought 2 more 24” ones and plenty of mixing oil. Tomorrow is go time. I will be adding pics as I go along. It’s game on!

Glad you are off for the summer. Hang out under the umbrella and split that wood. We are still plugging along ourselves...

I put in 7 hours which included cleaning up small random piles that just got left behind as they were odds, shorts, etc. It took some time to clean those up. After that I cut this poplar which was a around 1.5 cords worth which then opened up room to get to this oak pile which I also got started on. Then the skies decided they were holding enough water and randomly spit, sputtered, and poured so I called it a day. The one long pile of oak now measures 75’ long.

Awesome days work, especially considering the heat and most importantly the humidity.

80 or so isn’t bad even with the high humidity especially since it was cloudy a better part of the day. I went through just over a gallon of water, 1 16oz Snapple and a tall glass of moms homemade iced tea.

Glad to see another teacher/hoarder in the club! I also teach! Wish I had the summer to do firewood only, but I paint houses in the summer. You got a nice set up there! And where does all that wood come from!

Much of the wood comes from a tree service, some comes from a guy who owns an excavation business, and the last portion comes from scrounges which might equal 30-40 cords this year.
