I looked and didn't find one for this burning season........18-19. So; if all is well with that, this is the OFFICIAL thread then!!! It's been pretty mild here in "The Peoplez Republik of Illinoiz" this burning season so far. We had about 14" of snow just after Thanksgiving, and some cold weather then; but since fairly mild with little snow. Some nights in the low/mid 20's..............but not...................COLD. So far I've burned about 2/3rd's cord of ash and box elder.
Burning since late October and I've burned about a cord of mostly ash and half 1/3rd pallet of pine slab wood. Sometimes its not that cold but eh, I like the fire and I didn't bust my back all summer last year to sit in a tepid house.
Probably only half a cord of Ash and Black Locust. This month has been warm like MightyWhitey said. Almost 50 degrees here now.Next week has a different look to it according to the weather channel.
Colder than avg October & November, then warmer December. Lit the boiler in late September. 1 cord of Pine & about 1 1/2 of Silver Maple & a little Oak. Actually slightly less than I used at this point last year with the old furnace. Zero complaints from me.
It's hard to tell how much I've burned, because I've been pulling from different racks all over the yard. I've been burning since October. A guesstimate is a cord total, of poplar, basswood, birch, yew, hawthorn, red oak, red maple, and a little bit of black locust. I'm pulling out of the woodshed now, so it will be easier to keep track.
Probably 1/2 cord or so since late October. I've been burning odds-n-ends just to get rid of them. It's been pretty mild so far....got me worried
Just was thinking about that the other day. About a full cord here of cherry and ash little red oak and some woodshop scraps. Colder October and November above average December. No complaints.
Been fairly warm here. We started burning 1st of Oct. and have burned a bit less a cord of Fir and Deodar. We have only started the forced air furnace few times since we started burning. I am curious to see how much we burn next year. The mix will be Fir, Locust and Madrone in equal amounts!
A cord here. Blak birch and tulip poplar during the day (thank you cl) previously standing dead oak at night. Oak was css about 10 months ago. Burning 24/7
We’ve burnt a little over a cord of ash and hard maple. We haven’t had much cold. Supposed to cool down next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At least two and maybe three cords so far. About one cord of that was Manitoba Maple and Willow but now it's all Red Oak. Winter came really early but it's moderated somewhat over the last week or so.
I started earlier than usual in mid October... & November was colder that normal... but December has moderated, heck the last two days... I’ve only lit one fire a day... .... so with that being said... I’m well into my first cord.... probably hit that first cord by first of December timeframe...
Not quite a full cord so far. Started the end of Sept. (our normal) with about 1/3 cord of pine/spruce mix, then got into Ash. Still into Ash, and should hit some Oak at some point. Also burned up some nat. gas in the furnace.
Maybe two or three cord here, at least half white pine. Burning 24/7 since the first of October. Less than half of what would have been used in the owb.. House in the mid to high seventies instead of 64-66. Thank you Ideal Steel! no dino fuels here, though I should probably fire it up to make sure it still work s.
I do once a year to for a few hours... just to exercise it... I already did it for this year, while I was at a GTG.....
