Nothing personal at all, I like the 1911, but the mystical FUD surrounding it sometimes is too much. Glock 17 has only been around since 1982, and there have been twice as many produced since then as the 1911 and all it's variants/copies in it's 100 year history. Disclaimer: I do not own any Glock or 1911 variants. Both nice pistols, but just not for me.
What percentage of the UK in your own opinion would prefer to buy a gun for self defense purposes? I see a lot of flack from internet commenters about America and it's "gun problem". I have to think there is still a significant portion of the populace that would choose to be armed if allowed. Am I wrong?
i see nothing wrong with the laws in the usa,yes have a gun for self defence,wish we could use them for self defence but we cant,i think most would like to do this, but our goverment will not have it, we are in a nanny state.
I enjoy shooting guns from time to time, even though i dont own one. My buddy takes me to the range, so i can enjoy a bit of gun fun. Sorry i cant contribute any more than this poor video - i also had to cut out the 100 times i didnt hit anything. Keep shooting!
iirc even air pistols are a problem there. Practice, practice, practice, its all about muscle training/memory retention (30%) the rest is mental. I really do not know how draconian the laws are by you but there are training units that use a light beam instead of projectiles ( think there are some compurter related programs as well now days) . The recoil isn't there nor the noise- but allows one to develop the sight alignment and trigger control aspects. Once you have that down pat then controlling the recoil and ignoring the distraction of noise becomes easier. I was in the high master classifications when I was still attending competitions. Age has taken its toll- still pretty decent shot though. The classic stance is single handed here.
I agree practice is the key. I try and get out a few times a week. I shoot a lot of 22 now that it's available, both pistol and rifle........... The main thing is to have fun!
The mail man brought me an extended mag for my LCP yesterday. Great improvement! I could only get one and a half fingers on the grip before. Fits my hand just right with the new mag.

Good morning, I'm a revolver fan, have been for many years. This is my latest addition for deer hunting. I didn't get to shoot any deer this season with it, but I'll practice more for next season. This is a Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag, with 7 1/2 " barrel. Also has a Weaver 2x8 power scope that came with the gun.

I had a S&W 29 back in the day. I had to be put on a waiting list, dirty Harry was pretty popular 1978. I bought a six inch nickel plated in a wooden presentation case, think I paid a little over $200. Wish I still had it, like a fool I sold it
I sold my S&W 10-5/8 barrel 629-2 few years back, I'm still kicking my azz......I really like the Redhawk's! there's no problem loading them on the hot end of the chart.
Woodslave welcome to the land of BTU's. Those Ruger Redhawks are tanks. My first revolver was a 6" GP100. Regret ever parting with it.
I guess I've been in the land of btu's for a long time just never knew there was a site for us. When I bought this Ruger I had a S&W 629 side by side, the Ruger was so much more beefy. Don't get wrong I love my S&W revolvers, but the Ruger frame was definitely heavier
