Finally something! The icing made it especially easy to slide into the car. I'm thinking Norway maple. I'll go back for more in a little while.

 

Extra points for having wood AND a car seat in the car at the same time!

 

Second load... the car seat is so hard to install, I leave it be in winter.

My first and only big scrounge out here in Vegas. Boss was gonna throw out a bunch of 2x6s. Will be chimenia fuel for a while.

 

I also have some happy Volvo wagon memories. Mine was '74 145.

 

Some CSSD (cut, split, seasoned, and discarded) at the dump this morning. I took as much as I could, but had to leave some. By the time I got back there, the rest was gone. Mystery wood, not punky, pretty heavy.

 

You could have squeezed a few more on top!

It's slowwwwly picking up at the dump. With no snow on the ground, the city and others are cutting some trees. Trouble is, what they dump is whole trunks!

 

Decent scrounge.

Can you cut there, or is that frowned upon?

 

I think that would be frowned upon. Think of the liability issues for the town. We're lucky the dump workers let us take stuff as it is.

 

That's what I figured.

 

Dump had a lot of wood this morning...big elm rounds, some poplar, mulberry, and a lot of pine. Unfortunately had daughters stuff from sleepover in the back... only grabbed a few
