If some of the smaller stuff was there I would have loaded up!

I got some tulip poplar via cl, a couple years ago. It burned fine. Shoulder wood. Left more ash in the firebox than the oak I usually burn.

It's good wood, but looks like it had a good bit of rot in it. Good decision to pass on. Of you didn't have any wood, different story.

This is more like it. A little dirty, bone dry, mostly maple. It will go right into the shoulder season stack. IMG_20190605_45928.jpg IMG_20190605_35742.jpg
I'm going to have to talk to these folks. This is a block away from me. You up for this Mwalsh9152? IMG_20190605_5855.jpg
I left a note in their mailbox.

Yes it is. There are 3 or 4 skinnier ones that haven't been dropped, too, just limbed. There's a rope hanging off one of them. Looks like a handyman special, not a tree service job.

It's right near where the one last year was. I might know the guy who lives there, but I'm not sure that is his house, so I wrote the note like I was just a random neighbor.

I just heard from the homeowner, it's on. Hirko tree service is cleaning up brush today, and I (we) can start cutting the big trunk tomorrow and next week. Hirko will drop the smaller ones later.

The tree service must have rather bucked them than haul away the logs. There are still 2 standing.

Locust for sure, don't know about the other stuff. I'm going to have to start storing wood on my roof.
