Yeah I miss her posts and wit too. I sold some mulberry to a guy last Fall who's father took it back to Key West for smoking. He told me all he used was a wood called buttonwood which is similar to sycamore. When you have good wood word gets around!
As I’ve mostly been selling at my roadside stand, I’ve only ever done small deliveries for friends like 1/2 face cord size. This week I got a call who was referred by a friend wanting 2 facecords. Not wanting to disappoint, but without a truck, I decided I would just figure it out. Turns out, you can fit a face cord in a Ford Edge if you stuff it to the gills.Reverse car hoarding!
I had to cut through brush just to dust this thread off. A RO branch fell along the side road of our property. This was a better solution as opposed to moving it uphill manually.
Well done Mike, well done! I hate hills and would've done the same. Have a potential score that requires schlepping the wood up a hill. Close by and need to check it out first.
Our property is triangle shaped, 3/4 acre, that slopes away from the house in all directions. Good for drainage, not so much for moving firewood. 2 of the triangle edges are streets. The 3rd is a stone wall.
