The only hoarding I do these days is for the easiest pickings...this qualified. Stacked roadside, right around the corner from my house. He offered me more stacked in his driveway, too. The only drawback is, he cut it wicked short. But, beggars can't be choosers. Two car loads.

In this weather stove does not have to be crammed full. Just tougher to stack

I think I'll stack it in the shed, once it's split. My grandson & I will use M2theB's little electric splitter.

Here is my first grab in a while.. pretty meek, but the soft wood was harder than the hard wood. I’ve stopped by the “honey dump” a handful of times since the pandemic, but the results have been a shadow of what it used to be. I don’t know if landscapers be chipping, or if they selling their own cordage. 8CB82373-1AF5-49B8-ADDA-D5C5B7BE3EC8.jpeg B67A7D8B-2794-4ECF-9D5B-07CD4AA3AA54.jpeg

I happened upon this little score walking my son home from school. Don’t take away my car hoarding card for using the wife’s mini van. I needed to go big AND go home. I even got it piled next to an empty spot right as the sun was going down. 160BBC01-F000-4AD8-A9FA-2958FB617813.jpeg 9E9586B8-8FC3-4836-90BA-907DD4832194.jpeg CC6E0D6B-9695-416A-AEF3-4FCFA2391A3D.jpeg FD91F114-1483-4860-AA1C-B10F76ED8370.jpeg

I should have grabbed a pic of the stem on this beast. They must have had a crane in for it for the 16 wheeler flatbed was looking about as overloaded as my van. They are taking a smaller one down tomorrow.. we’ll see how my back is doing, as it has been a while since I’ve hefted some green red oak like this.
