Certainly no hard feelings except for maybe in my lower back from hefting all that water into my trunk. Nah, I’m doing fine today. Not the biggest load I’ve fit in the car, but maybe one of the densest.
Have you sectioned with the maul to ease the back when loading/unloading? Seems i do that with 16"+ rounds regardless of species just for that reason. Getting those rounds into a car has to be a challenge unto itself? Grabbing any more at the score or just long lengths left? Looked like some nice wood left.
I do try to at least section up whenever I can, but even the two “rounds” I got were real tricky to break up w the maul due to their length. I was able to work the edges and one cracked in half w 3-4 whacks once all of the sap wood was gone. I’ll get a saw or two back and in working condition, and if the wood is still there I’ll grab some more. I really should maintain focus on the red maple hoard across the street as I have too much oak waiting around and running out of places to (that the wife will let me) put them.
I missed the trunk shot, but this was hoarded in our mini van from a custom carpentry/ wood shop. Apparently you can have logs milled there too. I asked and he said nothing was pressure treated, bit to avoid the stained cypress for the stove. I did see a couple ply pieces. Is ply off-limits for burning? HT just means heat treated right. Also my neighbors saw won’t start again and it looks like it was re-wired since I hot-wired it for him a time back... I just twisted the wire around the clip on the spark plug and it worked. What is the deal with this black wire that clips into a plastic piece? I would say ground but not to plastic. Could this be why not starting?

I like finding stuff like that at my suppliers. Id only burn the untreated wood. No plywood, osb, painted/stained, pressure treated etc. Nice grab MFP!
I don’t need to let it dry right? It’s been heat treated? I borrowed my neighbors new Stihl-261. It wasn’t cutting great, but I think it does just need a sharpen. And my tools are still at my sister’s while they are in Cincinnati. I just ordered a 2-1 file guide, that should be here soon. It was throwing big chips, but would bog down easy and have trouble engaging at the same time. My theory is that the cutters need sharpening but someone took the rakers way down so the chain would last longer without sharpening. I told neighbors son that I sharpen every tank or two and that he shouldn’t need to keep buying new chains. Too bad the 250 not cranking, but I guess my echo is about the same size. I can’t wait to get that warmed up.
If "heat treated"means kiln dried yes it should be good to go. Ive had hardwood pieces oak and maple that sizzled when ive burned them. My friends friend buys new chains all the time.I mistakenly volunteered to sharpen all them once! Once the rakers have been filed down theres no going back. Another friend has bought used chain saws as the buyer says it no longer cuts good!

Makes sense. Figure a pallet of food stuffs/perishables on a pallet. The pallets i scrounge are from building material suppliers.
Dad cut down the tree in his yard, he hated to do it in one way but it was a messy tree in shedding season, it had tons of these funny looking, tiny little leaves that fell all over everything, including the car and possibly the neighbors stuff too since he's in an attached place. He says it's a maple, I'll have to take his word for it. I don't recall seeing a tree like it before. The bark looks maple enough, but the leaves sure aren't like our usual maple. Just a few chunks of it as well as the regular pallet fare, still plenty to be collected yet.
Somehow Didn't get a pic, but I had the majority of a hardwood tree sandwiched in the car among 2 pallets which where not yet disassembled. Car handled it well. Just a pan of kindling and some remains of the pallets
I'm pretty sure this is mulberry that I picked up at the dump. It caught my eye because it was gold and shiny, couldn't resist!
