I've got one whole section of yard decor. All stacked up near the OWB!

It was a good day at the dump. Storm damage was arriving, and the loader & dump truck were hauling away all the Christmas trees. And uncovering treasures as they worked. Cherry, oak, and maple. IMG_20180305_5566.jpg IMG_20180305_1580.jpg

Highway birch treasure. I have even trained my 4 year old to be on the lookout for a scrounge. She spotted this one. This is the first of many loads to come. IMG_20180305_165828.jpg

Load one of the day. Not sure the weather, or my back will allow a second load. 20180307_101532.jpg

Great job getting it before the snow. That Bronco looks pretty close to the pavement.

Thanks, I think my sciatic nerve will let me grab one more load. It' already displeased though. Just waiting for mama to run an errand then I'm gonna head back out.

It actually takes loads like a champ. I put one ton suspension in it. It's just sitting half on the shoulder in the pic

I figured there would be some pre-snow goodies... took the oak, left the pine & cherry. IMG_20180307_39401.jpg IMG_20180307_44842.jpg

I had to leave the notched stump cut. The only way I was able to get the biggest rounds up was to pick them up awkwardly, then set them on the next one to reposition it to carry up the embankment. I ran out of pieces to put it on, and they were just getting stupid heavy for my back. So no mas

Hope you didn't do too much damage! Up an embankment sounds like hell.

It wasn't much fun for sure. The first tree was 3' off the road. The second one I had to work for.

I'll have to do some more scouting around the area and find where else they've been. There's a few more maples about 100 yards down from the first one, but they are up an embankment. Another that's not gonna be fun.

There was an Asplundh truck parked on a side street, didn't see any others around, and it was a street with underground wires, so they wernt down there!

Got a semi good load of red oak this morning. I left about the same amount behind to get once the snow melts. 20180317_125558.jpg

I've started just keeping my new Isocore in the trunk for the big rounds. Roadside splitting and then in they go.
