No, this was south of Lisbon on river road. I was on the road for work and decided to stop & and some pics, with my jaw dropped the entire time!
If you were also asking me, the side that the trees are coming down is our property but where it's flooded is the neighbor's down the road.
Such a shame to be losing the trees along the brook. They will just cause more problems far down the brook.
I took some more pictures of the same area today in bath, nh along river road on the ammonoosuc river. This time the pictures show the frozen river which looks more like a glacier field.
We'll see if the high temps today along with the rain tonight will move any of the ice, I don't think it will but I'll take a ride down tomorrow.
There hasn't been much movement of ice in the Brook except for one slab that moved some, the water has dropped pretty good so that's nice. With the weather staying below freezing, the Brook should start freezing from the bottom up again and then the whole process can start over.
I was going to ask if that was the Wild but read it again. I've spent some time with the fly rod at the covered bridge area. That's a big river to ice up like that. Although it does get pretty wide after the damm.
The town was up early this morning with the excavator clearing the down stream portion of the bridge on the brook that runs below our property. I was amazed at seeing once chunks almost 2 ft thick!
After putting more ashes down on the driveway, I took a quick ride down to the Brook. Some of the ice has gone with a big drop in the water levels.
I see that they are forecasting -17 with a windchill of -33 on Sunday night, that will help the ice melt off the driveway & Brook.
Since it was nice out, we decided to take the screen house down but when we came home to put it in the new garage so it could dry out some, the rain came down hard. After we took care of that, it stopped raining. I came inside for a sandwich and also wanted to check the radar when the heavy rains hit again, we'll see if I get any splitting done today. The rain has finally stopped so I'll give it to 1 p.m. before I head back out again.
About 7 or 8 years ago, we had a company out of Ohio (hope that's correct) ask us if we would let them on our property to check the water quality and they shocked it for trout but we never heard what the results were. This year we received a letter from a different company asking the same which they did last week when both of us were gone, I'll try to contact this company in hopes of getting some of the results.
I'm not sure if it's an outside contractor doing work for the DEC, we pulled a phone number off caller ID and it was for the DEC. The letter we received this past winter asking for permission wasn't the DEC.
