The boss and the new guy. A week in my life.

If only I lived in CO, company I work for is on edge, not sure if ill hsve a job in 2 months, just keep my hood down and bear with it, good to hear there's plenty of work somewhere!

 

I know what you guys are saying about the under 30, "everybody gets a trophy " for participating crowd. I see it at my work. In the 70's when I was 18 and right out of high school, I started in a paper mill, a union job working with men, real men. You did your job, you shut your mouth or somebody would put a fist in it. I'm a better man for growing up that way. Sadly lacking today.

 

I tell all new teachers I hire that I had better be blown away by their professionalism and enthusiasm the first year-because those things naturally diminish over time- hopefully to be replaced with experience and wisdom. If I have any doubts, they are finished after the first year before they are up for tenure. Only had to dismiss one of so far-more excuses were gave to me that year by him than the rest of my 26 teachers gave me all together!
