This is what happens when you need to showcase two companies and turn heads. In this case, exmark and Holland grills. Mower and grill both run on 1 propane tank and will be at a golf outing tomorrow.
Schweet. Throw on some yardbird, mow yard, consume liquids, eat dinner. That right there is a time saving device.
Yeah, we could have a ball with one of those! Split a bunch of wood then fire it up. After than we can mow.
Good stuff brother! It’s possible to make money in that biz for sure. I was moving $1M+/year in wholegoods plus parts and whatnot as a snot-nosed kid. (And loving every minute of it!). If you keep this pace up I think you’ll be doing waaaay more than that!
A trimmer order for 2 different companies combined. Not pictured is the mountain of br700 blowers and the quarter million dollars worth of lazer e series between the 2 companies. Nope....i didnt sell any of these for those wondering. Hopefully I'll have them all in one camera shot tomorrow. At this point we have mowers all over the place. Half the mowers are getting strobe installs also.
At this point we have stuff everywhere. Floorspace is a premium. And we have 3 barns to give you an idea. It won't quit raining here so people cant limp their junk equipment on until October like in past dry years. We are still cutting grass every 5 days here.

There has not been much grass cutting around here for quite some time as almost all the rains the come through simply miss us. Glad you are getting some and that does help some of the business. Job security?
Way too much rain here. The boys at our local shop are flooded with old junk mowers than gave up the ghost when forced to mow 6" wet, heavy grass. Amazed at the people that will spends $100s to keep a $1500 lawn tractor running!
Well, I've likely spent a couple hundred on parts on our old tractor. Over the 20 or so years we've had it. I'm still contemplating getting a rebuild kit for the engine.
I'm a big fan of rebuilding older garden tractors and their engines, done a couple of repowers also. The new stuff is nothing like the older ones.
Well, old rider was nothing fancy, a Murray/MTD machine. 17.5 B&S 42" deck, but it ran and cut great. Can't say the same for the Poulan we picked up last fall. Knew it was gonna go when it'd blow smoke on a downhill turn. I'm certain the rings blew out, but haven't made the time to remove and tear it down to check the cylinder. It had no compression, and you could feel air escaping with hand on the oil fill. It served us well.
I can understand some parts on a machine for a DIY project, or even spending some money to fix a good vintage garden tractor, but I am talking about chain store mowers 10 or 12 years old that could be replaced for less then $2,000! Doesn't make sense to me to have a 500-1,000 dollar repair on those.
Sounds like you’re killing it in the execution of the new job and enjoying it at the same time. When bonus time comes around don’t seek out what others get or let know yours- that’s bad juju creates tension and what not. All you can do is what you do and let that drive you to seek higher bounds, ie going to product training and what not and showing there is an ROI to the owner/bossman.
