Yes they set their own hours. Too many variables in production and time they put in during a shift.

My guys got everything split I left for the tw6. I was out cutting early this morning g so they had wood to split when they came in at 7:30. Oak pile there is about 75’ long so far.

Got this end of the current oak pile done and it’s sitting at 90 feet long. Have about another 20 feet to add to the other end but that will happen once I fill in the windrow behind it.

Moved the tw6 in this tight spot to fill in the space here. Going to be my last mixed hardwood pile and have this tree wood to deal with.

Oak pile at the Iron and Oak splitter is up to about 30’ long. Lots of Goldilocks wood. Had to cut longer than anticipated today. We were scheduled to leave for Cozumel Mexico this morning but that all changed due to the hurricane. We thought we had more time to reschedule our flights but nope, have to use them in under a week so need to get enough cut to keep my guys busy. Got pretty steamy out there today.

Got enough cut to keep them busy until next Friday. The humidity was brutal today. After lifting a bunch of rounds to toss on the pile, it was hard to catch my breath. Dew point was 79 when I quit and it rarely gets that high here.

I had 4 days to cut as much as I can before going on my next trip. My son is playing baseball in Cooperstown NY. Been cutting a fairly steady diet of large mixed hardwood logs. Pretty much my least favorite.

Did you deplete the pile of Goldilocks logs?

No but that’s all oak and I won’t be able to sell that this coming season so I switched my efforts to mixed hardwood logs I’ve had around for a while. Lots of quick drying wood- ash, red maple, silver maple, etc.

Smart thinking. Still lots of great drying days ahead! The pile of TP splits I processed back in May are probably ready as they've been sitting in good sun. They are mostly destined for bundle wood.

A good hot summer sun does wonders for drying wood.

Current status of the mixed hardwood pile progression. Almost finished with the tree service logs and am glad to report am done with the big stuff from them. Cut 2 cords of oak rounds for a neighbor of mine who likes to split his own. I made sure to get him some some nice stuff with little to no crotches and knots.

Back in May/early June, I was cutting and splitting some Goldilocks pine. We finally got it all stacked up in totes, 16 of them to be exact.

Is that for Robbie's stand or do you sell it? Personal use?
