IIRC correctly it there wasnt any sign of glowing. I remember it being too hot upstairs when we went to bed!
I’ve had my syrup evaporator glowing cherry red on the sides, but I imagine it would take more heat than most of these stoves can generate to get them to do the same!
Steel starts to have a lil color at about 900*F, depending on lighting conditions, cherry red is about 1500*F!
When I was a hot pepper farmer, I'd run the heat up in my grow room to sprout my 1200 plants, hit 100 a few times but was aiming for an even 85*F That was in a Treemont stove. I miss that big ole stove.
The top of our cookstove has glowed when we turn the lights off. (Around 900-950). That's with a full load of oak right under the cook top.
