years ago i made a FB account. I started to see "ads" that were supposedly posted by my friends. absolute trash! i knew it wasn't something my friend put up. I thought, there's no way I'm getting ads like this. It took me a lot of time to delete my account. (way more than it took to set up the account!) I saw friends complaining about EVERYTHING ! Friends putting up pics of them on vacation...DUH! why not just tell someone to come rob your house... And selfies...what is it with selfies??!!?? some of the people have a serious case of Selfitis! And then there's the people committing felonies and posting videos of it. Could they be any more stupid??!!?? Marketplace has been great for selling some household items we don't need any more, though. I'll get on Miss July's account to use MP.
That's all I use it for. Craigslist is much less used for buy/ sell/ trade now, compared to fbmp. I've had people ask me why I don't have any information on me on FB. There's a reason for that. I've also had friends try to"friend" me on FB. I then text them and tell them to call/ text me back if they want to talk.
very good way to handle FB. IMHO. the whole mentality of "as long as I'm not doing anything wrong, I don't need any privacy" needs to end. I'd prefer not to give any information, to thieves and scammers. just my .02
