Can anything be truly "normal" this year?!
Things would probably be fairly normal for us, but one part of the family (from out of town) is not on the same page with things as the rest of us, so they might come, might not, might leave early if they do come...depends if anybody gets their "shorts in a wad" while here... :picard:

Maybe I’m abnormal to begin with but my life really hasn’t been all that different this year other than about the first 4 weeks of this event starting. Most people around here are dismissing the whole thing . The elderly are staying home

I’ve been kicking around the idea of a big winter bonfire party on or around New Years just to break up the monotony of winter. Fireworks and the whole smeel. Kinda like a bipolar Christmas in July .

It is actually a good idea. You can get a little wild. Not much chance of starting a fire. Other than that one time 20 years ago where I melted some vinyl siding on a friends house, it has always been fun.

It will be very different this year. Mom passed away in June, and my sister is going through chemotherapy do to a second round of cancer, so she can't be near anyone other than my brother-in-law and one of her children that still live with them. My brother will do his own thing as he always does. So it will be just me and my 85 year old father this year.

Saw this on another forum. Thought it appropriate here. We are staying with our normal routine unless someone is obviously not feeling well. Mom has elected to stay home. I understand, two of her friends contacted Covid from a baby shower and they are not in good shape at all. I live a hermit lifestyle anyway, so this is normal for me.

    Without getting too political....

If bars, restaurants, schools, large box stores, etc can all stay open and have up to several hundred people in them according to the Governor, and be safe then you can bet I don't feel guilty having a few people over my house. Before anyone says but they're wearing masks!!!......most schools here are eating lunches in classrooms of 20ish kids without masks, restaurants have no masks while eating.

Lol...I've hunted that same week for the last 20 years. Have always threatened to stay at camp for Thanksgiving. Maybe this could be the excuse!!

Right where I want to be.
We've been hitting the local VFW the last couple years. Plan to do it this year as well, if they don't cancel.
All the food is donated and most folks throw some cash into a jar on the way in. VERY good eats.
Family downstate will be doing the day w/o us.
