Wife's been laid up for a while with some torn ligaments and pulled tendon, so no help with the wood pile. Well I had to call in reinforcements....9 guys and a few solid hours of hard work. Well worth the cost of food, beer, and water. Side note...has anyone seen tree stump footings?? Definitely a first for me
Only in Connecticut would somebody reason that because the stump goes beneath the frost line, it would make an acceptable footing Nice pile of work you guys were able to knock out before the heat and humidity creeps in.
campinspecter's stepmother lived in a house that had stumps for supports for the four corners and the center of the house. Over the years, the outer ones slowly sank and the center one remained sturdier. The highest point in the house floors was the center of the house.
