Got after it again today. The novelty of this will take awhile to wear off! After sitting, fired up first pull. Had some nice big rounds to split up: So satisfying! Just under an hour of vertical splitting: Next up: This pile of hemlock and random pine rounds that have been sitting for awhile. Some of these ended up in the “give it back” pile; give it back to nature to let them decompose and do their thing. This was completed very quickly as the wood was easy to split. The rounds came from a hemlock that the wind blew over a year or two ago. I cut them short to use the fire pit. I have a feeling many of these splits will be ready to go in a few months given how light they are.
