Testing out the new splitter

    Got after it again today. The novelty of this will take awhile to wear off! After sitting, fired up first pull.

    Had some nice big rounds to split up:

    Next up: This pile of hemlock and random pine rounds that have been sitting for awhile. Some of these ended up in the “give it back” pile; give it back to nature to let them decompose and do their thing.

    This was completed very quickly as the wood was easy to split. The rounds came from a hemlock that the wind blew over a year or two ago. I cut them short to use the fire pit. I have a feeling many of these splits will be ready to go in a few months given how light they are.
