Now wait--all night burns are more a function of the species( think oaks ), the split or chunk size, and how much heat you need out of any stove. Yes, the Tempwoods will hold a fire overnight, not much heat. They do heat fast, but right, it needs many loads to use. It's a workshop heater. If you have to get up to load a stove in the "middle of the night" try bigger splits and high BTU woods. If and only if we're shivering ( whew ) I'm gone. Now for the inconvenient truth--I do "get up in the middle of the night" to use the errrrrr .... facilities, not to load any stove. You'll find out. Yes, cat stoves will burn longer and slower and more efficient.
Sorry Dumf all night burns are not function of wood. I got 14 hours on yellow popular smaller than my forearm. Granted not huge heat at end of burn..
No way I’m too cheap.. 165 gallons nov to March heat and hot water.. 100 gallons April thru October for domestic hot water only ... Ideal steel does rest
Species and split size certainly play into it...but the stove design has more to do with how long the fire will last...that, and firebox size
I'd rock that old beast. All the way to Caribou!! Plus I'd put the bumper sticker on the celica's bumper for Mt Washington, instead of putting it on my cooler. Fitting in small cars, especially imports isn't usually an issue. They typically offer enough seat adjustments that you can fit. Now, I wouldn't want to be in the second row behind me driving it though... Now, my buddy's dad, he's 6'8", and he'd always only drive tiny cars. Stickshift if possible. The best was the 2 Dr hatch Dodge Colt ( Mitsubishi) from the late 80's early 90's. It looked like he had to fold himself to get into it. It looked like his head was tilted to the side to drive it.
Actually no. I get good long burn times from any species or size with my hybrid. I spent all of last fall's shoulder season burning up a couple cords of kindling. I shoveled it in like coal the pieces were so small.
2022 or maybe when the pickup or warthog (raptor ized) arrive.. I mean the Sasquatch package and the 35" tires is pretty badass already, but even more badass?? Until then, I'll be test driving one when they arrive in dealerships next spring.
