I finished most of my tax stuff yesterday. We have an accountant we use as my wife owns/runs her business. All the various deductions and what not that the accountant finds that we'd otherwise not know about is enough to make my head spin and more than justify what we pay the accountant for tax prep fees.

I'd like to see some type of a flat tax system to make things easier on everyone. I'll stop there as to not derail into any political discussion.

My wife never made much at her job but they never withheld much either. I think the first year I caught on they held like $500 out of here checks total for the year !!! Now I said she did not make much but still was like $24k not like 7k.

I told them to check and make sure she was married and 0. She was and her office said thats how their accounting software did it? We owedan aadditional $900 that year. They could not fix it and so I told her just to tell them to hold out an additional $50 a check to fix it. Has been right since.

Now she quit to stay home so we should get most of what I pay back.
