I’m looking for good plain leather suspenders for everyday work around the farm wear and running errands in town.
    Kinda like the old timers.
    Anybody got recommendations?

Not the thin ornate fancy designs like for weddings or a formal event for show.

And not the multi strapped looking things that you’d expect to meet a lady named Sapphire in a cheap motel room wearing.

When I was a kid I didn't like belts and had those clip-on suspendres. I was skinny as a toothpick and belts just cut into my hip bone(s).
To this day I still prefer stretchy belts and pants with stretchy bits or material at the waist. I used to have two suits with pants that had no belt loops and some more pants without belt loops and the pants had the buttons that matched the suspenders. My better half once thought it would be funny to make my favorite belt that was old and frayed "disappear". I went and found a nice piece of bright orange polypro rope. Quite the shock when I took my sweater off at her best friend's house. Sometimes I just DNGAF.

Im in the same boat and have considered them. Very annoying while working with a tool pouch on and your pants are constantly falling down.

Funny as years back i didnt wanna wear Dickies work pants instead of blue jeans for work. I didnt wanna look like a "middle aged carpenter" Once i tried them ive never worn jeans for work again. Niw i guess i dont wanna look like and "old timer" carpenter!

I suffer from no azz either and am dependent on either bibs or braces (suspenders) after years of clip on's, I've graduated to buttons. Check out Labbonville

No sewing, you "install" them like a man...with a hammer
They also have a bunch of other applicable man stuff.
In the heat I cut the legs of of my older bibs. Look like a real hillbilly but don't mistake me for someone that gives a chit.:D
    Got em on right now!

I have a tool vest, it hangs from your shoulders. For less serious work I have a couple pairs of bibs with a built in cloth nail bag. Carhart doesn't offer them anymore but Roundhouse does.

So I tried a couple pair of suspenders. I didn’t really like any of them.

I tried pair of mechanics coveralls. Twill Action Back Coverall | Red Kap®

these are fantastic! A bit heavy for summer but they have short sleeve light weight pairs so I’ll try them when the time comes.

Eric Wanderweg my wife was relieved I didn’t stick with the suspenders tho I can care less.

I'd rather have the suspender "look" than the YO pants look!

Once I found Dickies pants, i never bought a pair of blue jeans again.
I bought Levi's all my life...every year i tore the knees out then bought more. I have Dickies that are over 5 yo. And they were almost half the price of Levi's when i started buying them.
