So I found an axe a couple months ago and finally got around to cleaning it up and putting a new handle on it. To my surprise, as I was cleaning it up I saw it was stamped Plump USA! I used it split up a little kindling, it worked pretty good.
28” was the shortest handle the hardware store had that would fit the head. I wanted a shorter handle because I’m only going to use it like a hatchet to make kindling. I used it the other day one some dry ash splits and it worked well. I think the head is 2.5 lbs .
When I go t the in-laws farm for thanksgiving I’m going to check the sheds for any old axe or maul heads. I know there’s some around… but finding them that’s another story!
I have an old Plumb brush axe i re-furbished awhile back. I've also had a few Plumb claw hammers over the years.
