Yeah, we have to give him stool softener twice a day and we got some special dog food for him too. Poor little guy's gonna have the squirts for the rest of his life...
Well if starts to look like he isn't going to make it, his regular vet will take emergency calls like that. Dr Will, who did the surgery, also runs an emergency after hours clinic out of his home, but that's over an hour away. If it turns out the other vet can't do the surgery, or I can't afford it, I want to manage his condition as long as we can. This last visit was a little under $100, but it seems to have done the trick for the time being. We're making him go potty any time we notice any swelling back there because we don't want him holding it in too long, and that seems to get things back under control. If that can keep working and get him out of danger for a couple weeks, $100 every few weeks will be a lot more affordable than a couple thousand every few months.
Awesome job Shawn, you are a great "Doggy Daddy". It amazing what we do for our little buddy's. Good karma will finds it's way to you......................
Sorry to here about all this Shawn, really sucks when our little buddy's are not well . Hoping the best for Otis
Well we haven't got the surgery for him yet, but he's hanging in there. No major issues since the last time we took him to the vet - he's his happy, playful self. We just try to make sure he goes potty enough and takes things relatively easy - no jumping off the furniture, and we help him up and down long flights of stairs, etc. Thanks for keeping him in your thoughts - it means a lot!
