Update - things aren't looking so good for Otis... Over the past week or so, we had noticed some swelling in his behind when he had to go potty, but it would go back to normal afterwards. But yesterday, it was looking really bad, and he was having a really hard time going. We got him an emergency appointment with the vet, and apparently the hernia surgery came undone, and now his bladder is involved in it. He had to use a catheter to drain the bladder, and then he was able to poke around in there and get it back in the right place, for now. But he said that there wasn't much else he could do for him now, and recommended another surgeon, but he couldn't guarantee the other surgeon would be able to do anything either. Given that it's his bladder causing problems now, things could go bad for him in a real hurry... I just hope he can make it to the next appointment.
did the vet give medicine or supplements so his stool is nice and soft to pass it easy? Libby canned pumkin (plain pumpkin, not pie mix) helped an old dog I had.
