    Yeah, and don't forget to give yourself some extra room for your chimney cap. Pulling birds out of the fireplace gets old.

    If you can think of it at the time, post some pictures of your install process before/during/after. I'd be really interested to see how it all comes together.

    Looking at the manual, it's a bit vague, but I think they measure the liner from the bottom of the hearth, so you should be in great shape. Full 17' plus some extra for the cap etc.
    Believe it or not, my original brick chimney was only about 12' from the top of the insert.
    Mr. Plumb, it sounds like you're on the path to wood burning happiness :)
