    A lot of sycamore, and some black walnut, plus hackberry. I don't see any hickory or ash n there at all.

    I've not processed or burned sycamore, but I hear it's tough.

    I think its similar to elm to split, lower btu so SS wood. You like elm so it'd be right up your alley Horkn

    It's worse than elm to split, very little coals, lot of ash, BTU about like sweet gum...

    Sounds like elm is better than sycamore. Elm coals pretty well, isn't super ashy, and about the same BTUs.
