Welcome Tullytown. -18 windchill and dropping here in upper bucks tonight. My last bag of Okie Doug Firs are melting the paint off my walls. If you're ever up in my neck of the woods, I'd be happy to trade you for a couple bags of those Golden Pellets. We have a few brands you might not have burned yet. I'm sure Steve wouldn't mind test driving a bag as well.
Firing some mixed blends right now at the camp. Some of those dirty Green Supremes left over from last year. Seeing how they do compared to the Curran Softies I've been burning. I need to find some good hardwood pellets and try them out. I have not tried any good straight hardwood pellets yet. Tough to find them around here. Almost everyone sells blends.
prob have some left over so may just happen... I'll be getting 4 tons from my stove dealer when he does the early buy in the spring. E&E Chimney Levittown. then a mixed ton of whatever I stumble on to for funsies as I use 4 tons a season. BTW: How we're the O'Malley's burning? Grabbed a bunch in December.... they seem to be pretty hot for me but do leave sizeable ash and some Small But Hard deposits in the burnpot.. Not a Biggie or lot but they be Hardies....
Burning a few bags off the full ton of EazyBlaze I picked up from Joe at Bucks Pellets this past Saturday! Then back to my Hamer's.
I went out to snowblow, came in and it was like an oven. The tstat is at 74 and even with negative numbers the swing brought it to 76. My wife said " this heat is great, no more sweats or socks needed!" So far no oil eater needed. Even with -4 temps. For that, I am happy!
In A couple weekends or so, I'll make the trip up there and meet you at Bucks Pellets... i'LL Bring about 6 bags or so of the Goldens for trade.... And Steve is?
Overnights are AWF or Okie Golds. Daytime: ThermaGlo. My biggest constraint is the fact that I run an insert and I don't have a big hopper. Have to back the stove down during the day or else it'll run out of pellets. Puts out good heat on 4 and 5, but I back it down to 3 when we are at work.
