Oh man, what a struggle. I play this cap on, cap off game over and over. I didn’t have it on for a good many years then just recently put it back. It’s nice to have the dry secure storage when it’s on. I justified this time by saying I wouldn’t stack wood in there and use the trailer as primary. I got these 2 trees that just fit in one load. I really liked leaving my saws and stuff in the back during the week so I didn’t have to reload everything though. How long that will last I don’t know. :loco:  I can’t manage getting it on/off with just me and wife and my boy is moved out and not easy to get here. Be nice to have one of those garage winches to lift and hold it for wood scores.

Got ya. Used to do the same thing, take it on and off. I had an aluminum one that was lighter to handle and I'd back in the "carport" and had a chain support system to get it off and suspend till I needed it again, back in and lower. Maybe a tonneau cover would work better for you? Keep cargo (saws) dry and covered, fold up to haul and or easy to remove by yourself. That is what I'm running with now.

I have one of those roll-up covers that snap to a frame (see pic). Thing with that is, anyone could un-snap and steal anything in there. And, I’m sitting on over 20 cords of split/stacked wood and over 3 cords of rounds needing processed. I don’t have room for much more so I don’t need to be bringing home huge loads at a time.

Imagine, in less than a month that would have been a primo cherry, black locust, chestnut oak and SBH. :faint:

I've seen it done with a few pulleys and some rope...not sure the details of it all though, because I don't understand how it lifted level, I would think that each pulley would be another reduction in line/lift speed.
    Heres another way...

Once took the half top off my K5 1986 Blazer. Had a nice hailstorm that night driving home. Hail was hitting the backseat and bouncing off the back of my head and windshield. I never took that top off again :)

That's an awesome score The Wood Wolverine.
I love the limb wood from BL. I'll mix it in with lesser BTU stuff, to give it a kick.

First time I’ve saved stuff that small in forever. I guess with my big 3 woods it’s smart to keep as much as possible. Sure is a lot of extra work. Typically I’d have cut off the tops and drug the whole thing as one piece on a pile. Since I had help I decided to go down to about wrist size.
