Is that the Madison? I think so. It looks like a larger version of what was introduced originally. There is one member here who has it and doesn't think highly of it. But there are other factors contributing to that opinion. However, that is the only bad review of it I have heard. There are other wood burning sites, such as hearth.com and the members that have the Madison are extremely pleased with it's performance. I have two stove form Englander. The NC 13 and the NC 30 that I am very pleased with. I had to contact customer service for each stove and was dealt with professionally, courteously, and in a very timely manner (immediately). I highly recommend the company to anyone. Are there better stoves? Sure. But for $500? Both of the stoves I bought were on the end of the season prices from Home Depot (which should be going on right now). Someone found a Home depot with the lower price and if you ordered it, you would have to use that store's number to get the lower price.
I love the huge viewing glass, good price too, i think i paid $900 thats the only thing i could afford at the time and thought i would switch it out someday but after having it for 4 years now i wouldnt think of replacing it. Huge firebox too
If i fill it with 22” iv gotten 10 hours. I just did a post not too long ago i tested pine and got 5.5 hours
I do get smoke sometimes until it gets going. Open a window and it doesnt do it, my house is very tight. Sometimes i wonder if the fresh air intake would help. Id buy another in a second
You light the fire right, i let it rip for a couple minutes with the door cracked. You then shut the door, pull the dampner knob out and a turn to the left and somehow it closes the flu by itself as it reaches temperature and thats when the magic happen the pretty flames dancing on top and that huge window is freakin awesome
This is not so much directed to Warner, but to those reading this thread into the future. I've not been impressed or even seen more than 3 fingers worth of positive reviews. For my own part, until I can see more than a handful positive long term reviews on this particular style of stoves from ESW, I'd have to pass...especially when their NC models mostly get such rave and even stellar reviews. That said, if it's cheap enough, and well built enough based on your own inspection of the stove, then it might be worth taking a chance. I would hope that ESW would stand behind any issues that might arise. That stove does have a nice viewing window and some other nice features, mainly the controls...if they work properly over the long haul. My comments may not reflect some of the good experiences a few people may have with this stove.
No bad stuff here, my house is 2500 sq feet and i maybe go through two cords. Havnt turned on oil heat in ten years. I replaced a vermont castings with this stove and use a hell of alot less wood
No problems...I don't have one. I wrote that my comments were based on the reviews I've seen here and elsewhere. That's not to say all are bad, or maybe that problems could have since been fixed. I'm just reporting what I've read. That doesn't mean it's true, doesn't mean it isn't.
Ohh sorry im at work and just skimmed through the thread, thats cool, like i said i love mine, its tight, long burns, i use half the amount of wood my friends do. It is only 4 years old or so
