    My pit sees very few summer fires. Just too hot down here. My favorite weather for an outside fire is a 40-50F night.

    One more month and I will clean chimneys and be ready to go for heating season. Added 1 1/2 cords to my supply this summer. Retirement is great!

    I understand. My wife thinks I'm crazy when I have a fire in the summer. But I just back up. :rofl: :lol:

    I need another outdoor fire-something. We have a cheap import tin pit with a burned out tin domed cover. I love to start fires, I mean build and sit by the fire outside but it can get windy so I'm thinking of another wood stove with a window but on the concrete outside. I shouldn't burn through it.

    Yes. I made a circle H branding iron years ago. The kids got me the SLH iron. The kids love to get them red hot. Lately, they have been using my poker and free handing everyone's initials. Mimi's foot stool is full:rofl: :lol:

    Unicorn, I had the same problem. Gave up for a fire pit. WS, lots of hot dogs and marshmallows.
