By the way, I love the umbrella next to the splitter, I incorporated a pipe sleeve welded to my splitter I build for just that reason!
Here is the pipe I put on when it was in construction stage, Not hard and if you can weld or know someone who does, it's just a piece of 1-1/2" pipe, welded to the side of the beam. In the fall or winter, it also works as a good Fiskar hatchet holder for cutting the stringy splits.
Me too Dennis, but it’s going in the wrong direction for us lol! Gotta turn it 90 degrees...I suppose it could be used for a sail to move the splitter around while it’s still vertical.
When you process firewood all summer long, an umbrella is needed. Today's high of 88 is the lowest in the 7 day forecast. A few of those days it's supposed to be 95-97.
The heat with humidity, puts the suck in sucks. As in, it sucks the life outta me. Oh.... I also dislike the combination intensely. So, what am I doing tomorrow morning? Cutting and moving big oak logs. Insane!!!!
I couldn't agree more!!! I worked outside yesterday, "beginning to restock the wood shed for fall" and after about 2 hours and 4 big glasses of ice water, I had it!!! I had to cool off in the shower with a Beer! Maybe this heat will help me get some gross tonnage from around my waist!
Yes K-mart shoppers, that's 96º in the shade at 2:00PM here in the Communist Republic of New Jersey, I'm amazed we haven't got taxed for sunlight yet...
It got to 89° here in southern NH. The humidity wasn't too oppressive. I split a little wood, in between dips in the pool. The water temp is 72°, which felt pretty chilly.
Haven't worked as much as would have liked but still making decent progress. Put in 5 hours yesterday from 6:30-11:30. It was 94 degrees when I stopped. I could have easily worked another hour or two but had other things to do. Worked 8-12 today and it was 95 when I stopped. Was feeling it today. I'm done with this pile which is 80 feet long and 8 feet high at the peak. I figured it's 30-33 cords. 3 more piles to go!
