This tree had been slowly dying. Being close to "objects" pool shed house, it was time to take it down. Cut it yesterday, after 4-5 nails and a few chains later the notch was cut! I spent this afternoon grinding my boogered chains, light cutting and moving the main trunk to the band mill. The diameter weight and length finally hit the limit of my arch and quad.... Couldn't steer, rear end bottomed out, usually there is more than half of the log at the rear of the arch counter balancing. Usually the arch carries the weight rather than the quad. I just got the big end to the mill tonight. 14 footer was too long, moving it on the mill would have been impossible as well so I cut the part I wanted to mill roughly in half. I was thinking of moving my mill the 100 feet to the tree, but re-leveling would take a day itself. Even if I did, 14+foot by 40+- oblong inch wide slabs I would have no way of moving them. 
Beautiful tree sad it died but will provide some awesome firewood!! How did the milled pieces turn out?

This one hurt taking down it was beautiful in it prime, 110-120+- years old the pith was starting to rot. Which made me happier we did take it down. A center rotted tree of this size would have needed a professional. Haven't milled it yet. I have to somehow twist and orientate it to clear the mill!
Milled the larger part today, running out of room to hide boards and slabs. Had to do a few small trims to fit the mill. These 2inch slabs are hefty! I always forget to anchor seal! Goofy stacked!
