Our 6039 bio mass stove needed a bit of repainting and I'm not about to move it outside (it's too heavy for one thing and the location isn't conducive to moving it for another) and the top is getting pretty ratty from years of use, so I used Scotchbrite on the top, followed by 400 grit sandpaper to remove the rust spots, cleaned off the sanded paint, tack ragged it, masked it off and applied 2 coats of high temp flat black stove paint, much to my wife's chagrin as I stunk up the house quite nicely and she had to open all the windows to get the smell out. Oh well, sometimes fixing stuff comes with a price. Least it looks presentable now. Still need to take it all apart and clean and lubricate the drive motors and the draft fan will need a good cleaning no matter what. I will say the 'Rutland High Temperature Flat Black' stove paint really stinks....lol Trucking along on the newly installed (last week) Bryant Plus 95 condensing propane furnace presently. I'll be taking it apart completely this week and firing it up and idling the new condensing furnace.
