Today went well. Had to drop three stumps down to grinder level. I've never liked doing that, always seemed to be a struggle, and haven't had to do it often. This was at a neighbor's place that is getting ready to rebuild after a total loss. I pulled my 20 inch bar and picked through a pile of well used chains on the floor, spent 20 minutes on the chain, and my reward was less then 10 minutes of cut time to take down 3 maple stumps. I'll call that a good evening.
they can be a pain. Ill save old chains for them as well. Dont do it too often myself. I have a huge oak truck with dirtball and theres maybe 3-4 logs i can cut. Waiting for ground to dry so i can excavate dirt channel under where ill be cutting and cut em off. Probably 28" logs so worth it.
