    Dont Stop Believing
    Lyrics go something like

Welcome to the forum Augie. We too like cherry wood and usually have some every winter. But, with the EAB, we've been burning mostly ash for the past 10 years or more.

Most of the Ash in and around Metro Detroit is long gone, the EAB started in Canton, in between Detroit and Ann Arbor. There is more than enough wood to scrounge local to me, just never know what you are going to get. Scrounging lets me dump my gym membership :tree:

I agree and was surprised how quickly it got to the Saginaw area. I remember hearing about it and then one winter finding an ash with the D shaped holes. We quickly cut it and burned it hoping to stop or delay things. Didn't do anything to slow it down. Sad, but at least we've had good firewood and still have plenty left to cut.

Most dont know that traveling north of West Branch on I-75 when you come to an area that looks almost clear cut it was done to slow or halt the advance of the EAB, it worked pretty well.

Yes, but I don't think I assumed anything. I merely said that you could get the job done by mid October with a little sunshine. Thus expressing my confidence in your methods.

Picked up another load, Got into the bigger logs buried in the pile. Seem like they are all 27-32 percent moisture content. Small stuff is ready to go, or will be within a month with some air, the bigger stuff needs 2 months in the kiln.

Ask and ye shall receive. Here is a thread I started to explain the process. I will update it as time goes on with the MC of the wood
