I’ve used them and I get it and like them but they can be messy and can damage a nice stovetop. Even seen them rust out stove pipe from the moisture.

I can’t find those anywhere online for sale. They don’t even have a value price for them but likely for all 4, you’d have something that might be wortb something in about 50 years. Made in 1983 and the best way to check for their authenticity is to note the stamped/signed numbers on the back on the bottom. Those who don’t are replicas being produced sometimes in 2008. Cool trivets!!

Perhaps not close enough for that? Ask Dennis, he had that photo of his stove that his wife was making apple butter and sauce. Maybe not a boil but simmer. I haven’t Boiled water but it’s on the to do list when I can get it warm enough inside and hopefully cold enough outside to endure such.

Her indoors bought me one to keep water going for a brew.
Fire tops too small , it weighs a ton and washing is always next to fire giving off moisture . IMG_7930.JPG

We have two enamel steel kettles on trivet (actually old gas stove grills turned upside-down) and a cast iron steamer.
The kettles steam when the stove is cranking, the steamer needs to be filled four or five times a day.
The cast iron will flake unless you season it
