lower two on the right are some black locust (was a dead standing top of a live tree from last April). Dark one on the left is white oak. Rest is red oak. All oak was 4 years old. I need to split more square...
Couple fir chunks and more crooked limb wood. Should be a quick easy toss and go re-light when I get home in the morning. Owl
Sometimes, moving equipment on the side job. The State Hwy permit wanted equipment moved at night on an off day. Moved all the equipment for the tower side in one swoop. Tower, hot saw and tether, shovels, processors, cats, everything, convoyed at one time. Daughter’s home or I wouldn’t leave the stove going when I’m not around. Snuck in around 8, tossed in a few sticks for her, while I grabbed a quick snooze. 13 hour burn isn’t bad, but I still miss that old Fisher. Owl
I gambled on making this one fit. Good time of year to burn the uglies and bigs. I have a bunch of fir that was from a tree service and it was cut much longer than I cut.
I've been burning shorties of red oak. (And a stick of maple I see). What was I thinking 4.5 years ago... (Scrounging anything I could to get ahead - and this was dropped for free, so I was happy. Now I'm less so, 8-10" pieces...) Almost done.
