    I respectfully dissagree with those that say you can’t heat a house from the basement. I know I do it also, know many others that do it. Wifey is from Pennsylvania you guys don’t get the same cold as northern New England. A steel stove in decent shape will heat your place. Just have a good pile of wood to feed it.

    I did it back in the 90's with a big Lopi, 1,200 sq ft ranch. took the basement door of and used two ceiling fans on low....worked perfectly.
