I got up at 6, chopped up 2 small chuck roasts into bite size chunks. Into the crock pot on low with a similar amount of onions and potatoes. Salt, pepper and one can of beef broth. Man it is really starting to smell good in this house!

Solid day here! Ran some errands and stores were pretty quiet. Hit a local spot for an app and some beverages. My wife made some spinach balls (appetizers), chicken is in the sous vide, baked potatoes in the oven and waved to the plow guy who made the first of what I imagine will be many passes on the road this evening/night. Keeping the stove well fed too.

My anxiety level is kept alive by my new job of plowing out that new gas station down the hill. Just took a pass thru there and at home. About a foot of snow right now. Plowing that gas station isn’t too bad when we have a normal snow. Sorta wondering where I’m going to push it all too. You know how they make the new Ct parking lots,,,,,,as illogical as possible :)

I get the impression anyone on this forum is probably the most prepared person in their area.

I plugged the block warmer in on the Kubota does that count as prep?

More than a foot here so far, but I’ll wait until the morning to get a measurement. I already had 5-6” on the ground from previous storms, so the snow banks along my driveway and walkways are getting pretty impressive at this point. I just came in the house from snowblowing for the 3rd time today, and I shoveled my back deck off twice so far. It’s still coming down steadily.

Truck. Both quads decided to crap out Friday. Polaris is throwing codes again. Honda is so cold blooded I’m not willing to sit out there and keep it running until it’s warm LOL. I’ll try again with these slightly warmer temps.
Gas station is plowed. Now they just need to open the doors and make some coffee.

TV says I got 18” of light snow. Our friends in the south got battered with ice. Not looking good for them. Hope they’re all staying safe and warm.

Our prep yesterday was a big pot of chicken noodle soup. Will assess when the sun comes up. From what I can see, we've had worse.

Hmm, sounds like something is wrong with the fuel enrichment circuit (choke) normally when they get some age to them they tend to run a bit rich, yours sounds a little lean.

The choke is working,,,wether it’s working correctly is another story :)
When I first got it (warm weather) it would fire right up with no choke. Previous owner said he never used the choke to start. I’m not so sure he was as intimately aware of the machine as he let on tho.
Once temps dropped into the 50’s I noticed it needed just a touch of choke to start. As temps lowered it needed more and more time to warm up. Now that it’s in the single digits/ teens it’s a PIA to start and keep running. Noticed Friday when it was quite cold it sputtered a lot on choke. Lower the choke effect a bit and it would stall or bog to death with the throttle. I’m wondering if the sputter is a sign of water in the gas or bad plug? Water should be frozen at these temps tho,,,,,,right?

I have no garage for either of these machines so they stay outside. I’ll cover them with rubber if I know it’s going to rain. I don’t always know it’s going to rain,,,,

Till recently once I got it warmed up and driving around it ran fine. I’ve seen some people online say they warm right up, others say they need 10 minutes before trying to drive.
I did see a video of some guy that had a lot of trouble in cold weather. According to him there’s a little known off primer bulb on the carb that should be pushed in cold weather. I never looked for it yet.

Not neccesarily...if it is the typical E10 fuel, the ethanol binds with the water (DIY Dry Gas!:headbang:)
It's the round black button on the left side bottom of the carb bowl...not typical to actually need it, but it is an option!
