That was my first thought too. You're the one who taught me of this. One of the first trees i learned of here.
BP is great firewood. Nice and dense when dried. Give it two years to season. Popular ornamental yard tree. Seems to break easily in high wind and ice load IME.
Decent firewood. Nice ornamental yard tree, except they tend to self destruct (with help from wind, rain and snow) when they mature. Some people cut them down at the first branch break and plant another one. Good for about 20-25 years or so.
Thanks All for the info. This is my first time dealing with Bradford Pear, and by the way it was a bear to split with the fiskars. But I got it done.
The two times ive dealt with it (albeit very small scores) it split rather easily. I had cut it the day before so this may have had a bearing on it? March 2019
