storing chains

    I intentionally broke a used chain, put 1 loop in and respun it. Sorta funny watching people try and figure it out.

    That is funny but at the same time you bring up a good point on a tangled up chain. There is always 2 loops or 4 loops.

    Plastic left over containers from chinese restaurants. Lays flat and clear lid. Lasts better than Ziplock bags

    So this little device, scrap wood layin around....washers and the like,same. Was a fun build. Even thought of putting bolts on the bottom for a different length chain.
    I always keep 4 or 5 chains on hand....no field sharpening. The bolts could have been a little shorter...so I dont spend so long spinning one wing nut off. But once on, chains dont fall off...even when held upside down. Can be strapped to my saw bag (a backpack w the basics for "going into the bush").
    The handle in the middle...more to keep them seperated, can be used for carry.

    I throw spare loops in the boxes chains come in. I have 2 taped together and they are what usually travels with me.
