Any chance you could rustle up some dried up leaves from the cut site?

Oak, color is wrong for hick. Those leaves on the ground in thirst pick are oak, the lichen screams oak and the bark says oak to me...

i need to start thinking of possibly wearing a mask when I'm outside all day doing this kind of stuff....everytime i come from outside chopping trees or doing leaf/yard work, my sinuses are terrible. My nose wont stop dripping and i feel congested everytime I'm outside all day in the elements and dirt and leaves and stuff.

I have a 5ton homelite. Don't count on it for everything.... if I had to do it again I'd go straight for a gas unit and skip the electric.

how much wood you planning on using each year?

That bark and wood looks like maple round here. But I do see the oak leaves on the ground. Without handling it id is tough...at least for me.

I was going to say maple too, soft maple, maybe red maple. The heartwood sure doesn't look like red oak at all to me, but some of that bark sure looks red oaky to me. The leaves around are red oak.

Wow everyone else on here has raved about the home lite splitter. Even on Home Depot the reviews are all positive as hell for it
