the vets I know almost always are low key about it, there are always 1 or 2 that seem to enjoy their "status" I really don't spend a lot of time talking about it other than stories usually of a humorous nature. obviously I'm proud to be a vet but I like my pride to be in the background for the most part. that said those who are more outward with it do not bug me in the slightest, they earned that right.

now these <insert applicable descriptive here> individuals who have not earned that status do little more than earn my contempt, I do not call them out on social media for the most part unless the situation dictates they should be (like someone gaining some sort of benefit reserved for vets when they have not earned it) nah, most of the time its just "what a Jack Assparagus" and I move on.

the largest percentage of these putzes have not done anything worthy of my wasting my time calling them out, I just know, "I've been there and done that", and they didn't have the balls to.

Mike, well said! I've done nothing anymore than any of our brothers and sisters in arms have done. I retire next year with 26 years of "total" service. I had some reserve time also. The "ONLY" thing that bothers me about these @$$holes are, "they" have no idea what some went through to be proud enough to wear the uniform and the phonies, they want instant glory on the backs of the folks that "been there done that".

I can't hold a candle compared to what my older brother did! Three tours in Country! :eek:o_O "FACT" and when I see some @$$ Clown with all the chest candy and calling himself or herself a war hero… :headbang::headbang::headbang::mad::mad:

I get ya Dave, my perverse dream is that when one is caught doing so they should be sentenced to have to do a training cycle at Bragg or (trying to remember the NAS in Maine was a P-3 base Portland maybe?) anyway these are the locations (or were in my time in) of the Army's and Navy's SERE Schools. :usa: I did the Navy one up in Maine in Feb of 92:shiver: un-freaking-believable school. would love to see one of these worms get "the treatment" from the cadre at one of these schools.:pain: not going to describe (NDS) but it would be EPIC to watch.
