Cheaper to replace when the time comes than the spur sprocket. Rims are less than $10. It's all I run on my saws.

You can probably find circlip pliers at harbor freight that will work. To be honest I never saw that setup on a saw. I did notice that on the IPL but it didn't register. Before my time. LOL.

Just got off the phone with local Stihl dealer. The 8T rim sprocket kit is not available. I'm sending them the 5 parts in the kit for them to check. The 7T sprocket is available, but I'll go with the rim sprocket if I can. The parts excluding the sprocket are:
    [a] needle cage 10x13x23 - 9512 933 2370
    [a] E-clip 8x1.3 (B) - 9460 624 0801 - multiple, easy to lose
    [a] 13 - Tank vent - 1117 350 5800 $11.99 order
    [a] 14 - Vent insert - 1120 358 8105 $1.49
    [a] bar 41.99 3003 008 6817 - 050
    [a] chain 35.99 3689 005 0074 - 050 325
rapid micro 050 325 low kick back green not yellow
    [a] air filter 1118 120 1611 order $15

The 7T sprocket if I go with that is.
    Chain sprocket 0.325" 7T 1118 640 2001

The sprocket in #22....I'd say borderline that it will max out pin tensioner. Maybe you had a bar/chain mismatch somehow or REALLY stretched chain. I've run sprockets like that or maybe even worse. yuk yuk.

I haven't run this saw. That is how it was sold to me. I don't know what chain is on there.
