$100? They are typically $200 here but you can get them as low as $175. Less than that and they are real beaters. No respect for a pro saw.

Yea I'd buy one all day for $100 heck you could part it out and be way ahead! That's a deal. For a decent shape saw! EBay would go 2 x that!

Yah, I bought one 026 for $75 that was scored, but it had all of 20 hours on it. I bought a 260 P&C for $100 and that became my '0260' hybrid saw that I still have.

I've bought one for $47 and one for $100; both were running fine. Also had a 024 that I paid 75 for (needed a new fuel line). Just have to be patient... I just passed on a nice looking 044 for $200 because I didn't feel like making the 45 minute drive.

Odd, semi-chisel should stay sharper longer than full chisel. Less chisel out there to dull. Semi does not cut as fast as full chisel, but I use it in cruddy cutting conditions with good results. As for .325 vs. 3/8 std. B&C, I ran many comparison cutting tests using 16 inch B&C full chisel with both on several of my 026s, some ported and some stock, and it was a dead heat. The kerf is nearly identical, so its the same work for the saw with either. Stihl does not have NK .325, but there are some aftermarket ones out there that may be faster. .325 has more cutters than 3/8 per inch, but I never liked it on any saws I have had. I use picco for small mount saws, and 3/8 for large.

There were 2 editions of the 346xp, the second one had a larger engine. I also had a newer 346xp with the paddle brake on the back, and did not like that feature at all. I do not like the outboard clutches on them either. It was the only 346 that the dealer had at the time so I bought it for limbing when I had my last arbor biz. I sold all my Huskies (346xp, 372xpw, & 395xpw) with my second Bandit chipper to a guy from NY that was starting an arbor biz.

And why $47??? Was it like my typo above when I wrote $259 instead of $250?

The guy was asking 100. I offered him $40, settled on 50 but he couldn't make change. The closest I could give him was $47 and he said fine.

A lot of people around here don't like Stihl. And it doesn't hurt to be looking for saws when no one else is. Not too many buyers when it's 20 below...

The flip side is I have this nice 361; been trying to get $400 with limited interest. Had one guy tell me I was asking more than it's worth considering its condition. I suggested he goes to Lowes and buy a Rancher if he cares more what a saw looks like than how it runs.

The guy had inherited the saw -- didn't know anything about it. I tried not laugh when I asked him if it always had smoked so much:zip:

$400 for that 361 w/ES bar would sell here in a few hours. May want to put a new side badge on it though. They make the saw go faster. ;)

This is also deep in Stihl country. Husky does not sell nearly as well in these parts. You could always get $450 for it on Ebay.
