    For that I would vote Echo 490 with an 18” bar and canned fuel. $100 more than the $200 budget but would serve you well.

    Stihl pro saws are nice but will needlessly triple your budget. It would help a lot if you got the model number of the saw you borrowed then you will know the size engine.

    I'm starting to lean towards battery power for "every now & then" usage. Saws that sit too much have fuel problems. Of course...how long the batteries live without regular charge/drain cycles is a factor to be considered. They tend to be quite expensive.
