Stihl Mix Oil Comparison

    Have you seen any corrosion on the con rod or bottom end?

    My top picks are K2, HP2, R2, Motul 800-off road and Klotz R50. Haven't given Klotz original a try yet.

    Not with klotz. One sit for 8 months or so with K2 or Motul. It did have a few spots.
    R50 is probably the best for protection but it has a little stronger smell and does hurt combustion like 800

    Yes R50 is some thick stuff. I leave saws sitting for long periods of time, I've yet to see much bottom end rust. Then again I store them is a pretty stable environment. I would say for storage the PIB oils like R2 and HP2 are likely the best for corrosion resistance IMHO.

    I think those oils are better for storage. It was only couple spots on the throws of the crank. It wiped right off.

    I just picked up another 6pk of the 6.4's. A little pricey ($20)but I need to clean up all that R50 residue. :hair:
